September 4th, 2011 - Honey Fete at Norwood Gardens, Llanllwni.

 

This year there will be the following stalls:

Merlin Cheese & Buffalo Dairy

Waen Brewery

Pottery

Cakes

Preserves and crochet bees

Greetings cards

Bee supplies

and

Honey sales

There will also be an observation hive, a tombola, candle rolling, face painting, a tin can alley, a name the bee competition and a guess the weight of the cake. 

Refreshments will be available from the cafe. 

 


Beginners Bee-keeping Course is on-going. This years programme:

                       Collecting swarms

Session 5 - 10thApril

Mothering Sunday and Easter break
 
 
Session 6 -  8thMay
 
The fruits of your labour:

                        Honey - composition, conversion and storage

                        Processing - extracting bottling and storing

                        Selling and showing - hygiene, presentation and legislation

                        Other hive products in brief

 
Practical sessions by arrangement in May, June, July and August in member's apiarys. The cost for the course is £75.00 which includes membership of Lampeter and District Beekeepers Association for one year and Bee Disease insurance for up to three hives.
